Dick Komakech is a Civil / Transportation engineer with working experience in various capacities in Europe, Africa, Latin America and South East Asia.
His earlier education was in Uganda before embarking on further studies in UK. On completion of his Masters in UK, he then worked for major international firms predominantly but not exclusively in Europe. To fulfil his passion to contribute to poverty reduction in developing countries, he later moved on to a Europe based firm with exclusive focus in developing countries.
He is currently based in UK but travels widely to provide lead advisory role and technical assistance in low and middle income countries mainly in the development of transport/road sector. He also provides occasional lectures to Imperial College London, UK. He seldom contributes to scholarly article in civil engineering articles in the UK.
Dick is married to Irene and blessed with two energetic and inquisitive boys, Tom and Azaliah.
Outside work, Dick is committed to issues pertinent to sustainable environment protection. His professional career invariably crossed paths with various issues on environment protections of which he has happily embraced them in all their facets. He currently serves at Engineers in Green Actions –Africa as a Board member despite being so busy with other works.
