Christopher Ongaya

Christopher Ongaya is Civil Engineer with much love for his profession. He has vast experience in building construction as well as the structural engineering designs.

Mr. Ongaya went to School at Holy Rosary Primary School and later Gulu Public Primary School were he sat the Primary Leaving Examinations (P.L.E). Later, he joint St. Joseph’s College Layibi, Gulu –Uganda  where he earned the Uganda Certificate of Education (U.C.E) in 2004.

At the age of 19, he introduced himself to the work environment by participating in a construction site at Bright Valley Primary School where he was able to raise some cumulative hard earned token for his pocket money.

In 2005, he joined Gombe Secondary School taking on, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Entrepreneurship(PCM/E) as his combination subjects of study. Results were great with a Uganda Government Scholarship offer to pursue a Degree in Building Economics at Kyambogo University School Engineering. However this was not in line with his dreams of becoming a Civil Engineer. He therefore neglected the offer and asked for family support to pursue a program leading to the award of a degree in Civil and Building Engineering at Kyambogo University- Uganda and later  graduated in 2011.

Mr. Ongaya todate remains thankful to his brother, Mr. Ocaya Fredrick Bese, a Civil Engineer with whom he co-founded the Company, Frontline Engineering & Investments Ltd, that struggled to financially complete the four years University tuition/fees and other support requirements until graduation day.

After Engineering School, Mr. Ongaya joined the team as Technical Director at Frontline Engineering & Investments Ltd where he was able to lead an ambitious team to the successful completion of a story structure to house a multipurpose hall and a Library for Gulu Senior Secondary School with funding from Invisible Children  alongside many other projects. He is ambitious to practice Civil Engineering at its best and  to use the knowledge to transform the lives of  people in his war ravaged community.

Mr. Ongaya is a member of the Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE). With this professional body (UIPE), he has attended many Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Seminars in order to execute his task more professionally. As a young and ambitious Engineer, he believes that bit by bit makes a bundle i.e. every little good thing you do will later accumulate to a great thing.

When he isn’t practicing his engineering, he spends time reading journals, jogging, playing board game, or trying very hard not to be the worst pool player.

Mr. Ongaya is currently serving at Engineers in Green Actions –Africa as a Board member and Technical Advisor on structural engineering of proposed infrastructure  projects in construction.
